Unitree Robotics makes a blockbuster stock market debut in Shanghai with shares rising 484% on opening day.

Unitree Robotics made a successful public debut in Shanghai on Wednesday, with its shares closing 484% higher on the first day of trading. The Hangzhou-based company is a leader in AI-powered humanoid robots, producing units that rival Tesla's Optimus and four-legged "robot dogs." The company raised approximately 6.1 billion yuan ($905 million) during its IPO, attracting investment from tech giants like Tencent and DeepSeek. On Monday, Unitree Robotics unveiled its new "Superhuman" humanoid robot, which is capable of jumping two meters from a standing position and running at speeds of up to 12.66 meters per second. This debut comes during a market period characterized by geopolitical tension and high bond yields, which are currently applying downward pressure on global equity markets. The successful IPO highlights the other AI-driven robotics companies preparing for future debuts, while the company remains the first pure-play robotics company to go public in mainland China.
