President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo meets with expanded cabinet to evaluate government progress ahead of September report.

President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo convened a meeting with her legal and expanded cabinet at the Palacio Nacional to evaluate the results of the second year of her government. The meeting serves as a preparation for the presidential report she will present on September 1st. Various high-ranking officials, including Secretary of National Defense Ricardo Trevilla Trejo and Secretary of Tourism Josefina Rodríguez Zamora, attended the research and review of progress on federal programs and pending matters. Under-Secretary of Government César Yáñez clarified that the meeting was a professional decision and had been scheduled since last week. He dismissed the idea that the meeting was a response to the controversy surrounding the son of former President Andrés Manuel López Obrador. Yáñez stated that the agenda focuses on important issues related to the state of Mexico rather than a specific political decision.
