President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo requests General Prosecutor Ernestina Godoy to personally oversee the case of Danna Yanina
President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo requested General Prosecutor Ernestina Godoy to directly oversee the investigation into Danna Yanina, an 18-year-old girl accused of involvement in the murder of Dafne Zapata. The mandate was issued following a meeting with the family of the victim, who expressed concerns regarding Danna Yanina's role in the crime. Sheinbaum Pardo stated that she wants to review the case with the prosecutor because Danna Yanina may also be a victim of the circumstances rather than just a participant in the process. The girl was detained on July 23rd after providing her declaration to authorities. Additionally, during the inauguration of the ISSSTE Hospital in Tampico, Sheinbaum Pardo described the new facility as a symbol of the break with the neoliberal era, citing 36 years of abandonment as evidence of the transition to a new era of governance.
