Octavio Romero Oropeza keeps personal assets confidential under Infonavit administration

While Octavio Romero Oropeza submitted his asset declaration on July 30, 2025, the Infonavit Transparency Committee approved the classification of his entire financial situation as confidential. This move contrasts with his predecessor, Carlos Martínez Velázquez, who made his asset declarations public. Julieta del Río Venegas, a former member of the defunct INAI, stated that the law generally requires asset declarations to be made public. She argued that the total classification of Octavio Romero Oropeza's data violates the principle of maximum transparency and contradicts the General Law of Administrative Responsibilities. Venegas will file an appeal for review regarding the unjustified total classification of the data. Octavio Romero Oropeza has not yet made an official statement regarding the matter.
