Peter Epstein Creates Cringebot 3000 to Address the Rise of AI Slop on LinkedIn

Peter Epstein, a Los Angeles-based PR firm owner, developed Cringebot 3000 to lean into the growing trend of 'AI slop' on professional networks. The tool generates purposely unoriginal, engagement-baiting content to help users navigate a platform increasingly saturated with generic AI outputs. While AI offers a 23% average productivity boost, it has also created a workplace epidemic of low-quality work. Research indicates that 66% of professionals spend at least six hours weekly correcting generic AI syntax. Furthermore, over half of employees have received AI-generated workslop from managers, leading to an 85% loss of faith in leadership. To combat this, experts suggest establishing clear team guidelines and formalizing policies with sign-offs to ensure AI serves as a tool for human thought rather than a replacement for it. LinkedIn has already introduced a 'report AI slop' feature to help users manage the influx of unoriginal content.
