SB Energy files for initial public offering to list on Nasdaq and Nasdaq Texas
SB Energy has filed a registration statement on Form S-1 with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission for its proposed initial public offering of common stock. The company, which is an artificial intelligence power infrastructure company, plans to list on the Nasdaq Global Select Market and Nasdaq Texas under the ticker symbol SBE. SB Energy is substantially dependent on the performance of OpenAI as both a tenant and equity investor. The company's data center campuses rely heavily on outside financing from partners, and none of its data centers are operational yet. For the first half of 2026, SB Energy reported net losses of approximately $3.2 billion, while generating about $139 million in revenue from its legacy energy business. The company disclosed that it may face community opposition and public resistance to AI-related infrastructure. It also noted that technological advancements could render its facilities obsolete or unmarketable. The proposed offering is subject to market conditions and has not yet determined a specific price range or number of shares to be offered.
