Southwest Airlines plans to debut its first-ever network of airport lounges in late 2027

Southwest Airlines announced on Wednesday that it will launch its first-ever network of airport lounges, with the first four locations set to open in late 2027. These initial lounges will be located in Austin, Baltimore, Honolulu, and Nashville. To create these premium spaces, Southwest Airlines will partner with Chase to build off the Chase Sapphire Reserve Lounge Network. The new lounges will offer dining options, amenities, and travel benefits. Customers will be able to access the network using a new Southwest Rapid Rewards Credit Card issued by Chase, which is scheduled to launch in 2027. Tony Roach, executive vice president and chief customer and brand officer at Southwest Airlines, stated that the lounges will provide a place for customers to relax and experience the brand in a new way. The airline noted that at least seven more lounges are planned to open over the next several years across high-demand business and leisure networks.
