Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez stated that networks linked to Russia and Israel were responsible for spreading disinformation regarding the migration crisis in Ceuta. The crisis began when more than 72,000 migrants crossed from Morocco into the Spanish territory between July 30 and 31. At least 70 people died during the mass crossing, though local authorities reported a total of at least 100 deaths. Sanchez argued that Russia and Israel used the migration issue to criticize Spain's political positions on the war in Ukraine and the conflict in the Palestinian Territories. He cited research by the European Union's diplomatic service, which indicated links between Russian and Israeli networks and international far-right networks.
