Mohammad Mael Jalani, a grade 9 student, killed a fellow student and then took his own life during a shooting at a high school in Zamboanga City on Tuesday. The attack occurred at a school attached to the Ateneo de Zamboanga University, where Jalani fired at a teacher before hitting a grade 10 student on the fourth floor. The suspect, who was described as a bright student and a Roblox fanatic, used a body camera to livestream the incident on Facebook Live. Authorities confirmed that the situation was under control shortly after the shooting, and classes were suspended for two days. The shooter's father, a district commander at the port of Zamboanga, was immediately relieved of his duties to ensure an impartial investigation.
