Meteorologist Andrew Brady reports that a record-breaking El Niño is expected to to reach a historic level, with a 90% chance of a very strong event occurring during October-December. This super El Niño is already causing global dry spells and crop failures, while preparing to bring unseasonably warm weather to much of the United States. Data from OpenSnow indicates that while temperatures will be above average across the country, the Northern United States will see below-average snowfall for the majority of the region. However, the Western United States, including states such as Arizona, California, and Colorado, will experience above-normal snowfall. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association has confirmed that there is a 69% chance the event will rank among the largest in the historical record since 1950. The super El Niño is expected to favor an active southern storm track, bringing increased precipitation to the mid-Atlantic, South, and West regions.
