Alexis Antonio Cedillos-Campos Arrested for Brutal Stabbing of Virginia Woman

Fairfax County police arrested Alexis Antonio Cedillos-Campos, a 19-year-old illegal immigrant from El Salvador, in connection with the homicide of 42-year-old Carmen Lizet Puch. The victim was found by a jogger on Monday morning in a parking area near a trail in Great Falls, Virginia. Authorities reported that Puch was found lying next to her car with numerous stab wounds and had been doused in gasoline. Cedillos-Campos and Puch were coworkers and shared an intimate relationship. Police Chief Kevin Davis stated that video footage shows the suspect arming himself with a knife and gloves before the killing. The Department of Homeland Security noted that Cedillos-Campos was admitted into the United States under the Biden administration in April 2024. The administration announced that the killing was 100% preventable and blamed the Biden administration's open border policies for the suspect's presence in the country. In contrast, the administration noted that President Trump is now enforcing stricter border security and reversing previous catch and release policies.
