An 18-year-old man carried out a deadly sword attack at a Swedish high school, killing one student.

An 18-year-old man carried out a sword attack at the Brinell School in Fagersta, Sweden, on Friday, leaving one student dead and at least two others seriously injured. The attack occurred while classes were in session with approximately 400 to 500 students present. Police Chief Tommy Alriksson confirmed that the suspect was arrested following the incident, and the case is being investigated as murder and attempted murder. Authorities reported that the two seriously injured students were aged 12 and 17, while a third student sustained minor injuries. The region entered a state of emergency on Friday, and the Fagersta city government established a crisis center to support those affected. Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson described the incident as a serious event and noted that police are working intensively to determine the motive. The national police have already conducted two house searches and are currently interviewing witnesses to gather more information.
