Swiss President Guy Parmelin offered his sincere condolences to the families of those who lost their lives following a Dutch tour bus crash in eastern Switzerland. The accident occurred late Thursday afternoon between the villages of Susch and Zernez in the Graubünden region. Police reported that five people died and dozens of others were injured in the crash. The bus, which was carrying approximately 45 to 48 passengers from the Netherlands, collided with a guardrail and overturned on its side. Emergency response teams, including seven rescue helicopters and 13 ambulance crews, were deployed to the scene to evacuate the victims. The Graubünden public prosecutor's office and cantonal police are currently investigating the circumstances that led to the accident. President Guy Parmelin stated that Swiss authorities would ensure a comprehensive and thorough investigation is carried out to establish all the circumstances surrounding the accident.
