Terra Restaurant and Bar was ordered closed by Santa Clara County health inspectors after cockroaches were discovered in the kitchen.

Terra Restaurant and Bar, located on the third floor of the Eataly food hall in San Jose, was ordered to close immediately after a health inspection revealed vermin contamination. Santa Clara County Department of Environmental Health inspectors discovered a live cockroach crawling on a wall above the kitchen's hand wash sink, along with several dead cockroaches in the food preparation area. The inspection followed a public complaint regarding the presence of rodents in the facility. While the rest of the Eataly marketplace passed inspection, the restaurant's health permit was suspended and it was assigned a red closure placard. The restaurant manager confirmed that pest control services were completed, the facility was sanitized, and potentially contaminated food was discarded. After a follow-up inspection on Saturday, the restaurant was cleared to reopen. An employee confirmed that Terra Restaurant and Bar is now open for patrons.
