Vishal Garg seeks to regain CEO role at Better Home & Finance after being replaced by Daniel Lewis

Vishal Garg, the founder and former CEO of Better Home & Finance, is demanding to be reinstated as the company's chief executive. After being ousted on August 3 by board member Daniel Lewis, Garg claims the new leader 'hoodwinked' him by praising the company's strategy while simultaneously positioning himself to take the throne. Despite the company's recent struggles, including a 93% stock drop following a 2023 merger, Garg argues that the business is on the verge of a successful turnaround. He highlights that revenue and funded loan volume have increased significantly since the first quarter of 2024, largely due to the expansion of the Tinman AI platform. To secure his return, Garg has secured support from a majority of the company's voting power. He has proposed a plan where he would work for $1 a year until the company reaches profitability, while also demanding the resignation of most of the current board members. While Daniel Lewis remains in the interim role, Garg maintains that the board made a mistake by letting him go so close to achieving the company's goals.
