Powerus begins manufacturing Guardian drone interceptors in the Gulf region to counter low-cost aerial threats

Powerus has launched manufacturing of its U.S.-designed Guardian counter-unmanned aircraft system interceptor line at a dedicated facility in the Gulf Cooperation Council region. The company established this production hub through a multi-year partnership with a regional defense manufacturer, aiming to position production closer to allies facing growing drone threats. By manufacturing in the region, Powerus intends to shorten delivery timelines and provide faster responses to threats against energy infrastructure, ports, and population centers. Brett Velicovich, co-founder and president of Powerus, stated that producing interceptors close to allies allows for faster delivery than shipping systems from the United States. The Guardian interceptor, which costs approximately $5,000, is designed to defeat one-way attack drones and other low-cost aerial threats. The company recently signed a $22.3 million contract to protect Middle Eastern oil and gas infrastructure. Additionally, Powerus is set to merge with Aureus Greenway Holdings Inc. in the fourth quarter of 2026, with the company adopting the name Powerus Corporation.
