Retired Israeli General Ephraim Sneh Denounces Occupier Violence in the West Bank as Ethnic Cleansing

This assessment was made during a tour of Palestinian communities to examine the impact of attacks on farmers, shepherds, and property. During the tour, retired Israeli military and security officials observed Palestinian residents losing access to their homes and farmland. In the village of Burin, farmer Bashar Eid reported that repeated attacks have left him permanently impaired and have prevented him from farming his land. In the Jordan Valley, families were forced to flee Bedouin encampments like Hamamat al-Maleh due to nighttime incursions and raids. Other senior officials, including Maj. Gen. Eyal Ben-Reuven, noted that the violence from settlers is a greater concern than other security fronts like Iran or Gaza. More than 200 prominent Israelis, including former prime ministers and retired generals, signed a letter demanding an end to the attacks. The signatories accused the government of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of pursuing a deliberate policy where the security establishment is complicly involved in the attacks. They also called for an end to what they described as Jewish terrorism and ethnic cleansing.
