Police Officer Kurt Solomon Laid to Rest Following Murder-Suicide Investigation

Worcester Police Officer Kurt Solomon was laid to rest following a homicide investigation that identified his death as a murder-suicide. The 57-year-old veteran and 30-year police officer died at his home on August 18, suffering an incised wound to the neck caused by a sharp object. Worcester Police Chief Paul Saucier issued an arrest warrant for his wife, Karen Solomon, on charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury. While the couple had no known history of domestic abuse, Karen Solomon was found near a Fairlawn Rehabilitation Hospital after a seven-day search. She is the co-founder of First H.E.L.P., a nonprofit dedicated to first responder mental health. During the funeral at Our Lady of the Angels Church, his son Niklas Solomon and brother Eric Salomonsson delivered eulogies, highlighting his humble nature and sense of humor. The Worcester Police Department expressed deep condolences for the loss of a dependable officer who served the community for over three decades.
