Staffordshire Police arrested four people on suspicion of murder after a three-month-old girl died while camping with her family in woodland near Great Wyrley. Emergency services were called to the scene off Strawberry Lane near Cheslyn Hay at 8:45 am on Saturday following reports of a child in cardiac arrest. Paramedics from the Midlands Ambulance Service and an air ambulance arrived to find the child, but she was pronounced dead at the scene. Police officers remained at the scene on Sunday to conduct inquiries and provide reassurance to the local community. The four people arrested at the scene include a 42-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman from south Staffordshire, a 20-year-old woman from Wolverhampton, and an 18-year-old man from Walsall. All four have since been released on bail as the investigation continues. Detective Inspector Josh Lee and Detective Inspector Katie Gregory stated that the death is being treated as an isolated incident and is currently unexplained. Local officials, including Councillor Robert Duncan, urged residents to avoid speculation and allow the family privacy.
