Local authorities reported that the storm reduced many buildings to rubble and uprooted trees, leaving several residents in need of emergency accommodation. Marie-Hélène Bouissac, the deputy head of the local government office, confirmed that 15 of the injured were hospitalized, including a pregnant woman whose house collapsed while she was was inside. While no missing persons were reported, the storm caused significant transport disruptions, including flight delays and cancellations across major French airports. Meteo-France, the national weather service, noted that while dozens of tornadoes occur in mainland France annually, most are of low intensity. The storm packed winds as high as 117 kilometers per hour in nearby areas, contributing to power cuts for thousands of households.
