Diego Sebastián N. and Gerardo N. transferred to prison following multi-homicide in Atizapán
Diego Sebastián N. and Gerardo N. were transferred to the Social Reintegration Center of Barrientos in Tlalnepantla on Friday morning. The two men were detained on September 2 for their involvement in a multi-homicide in Atizapán de Zaragoza, State of Mexico. Diego Sebastián N. is the primary suspect in the murder of Jonathan Meléndez, the founder of the band Camilo Séptimo, and his family. The victims included Meléndez's wife, Ana Paula Barragán, their three-year-old daughter, and a 21-year-old domestic worker, Aleyda Romero. The crime occurred after Diego Sebastián N. entered the residence, where he was received by Ana Paula Barragán, who was four months pregnant at the time. Authorities indicate the murders were caused by a conflict over money and debts between Diego Sebastián N. and Jonathan Meléndez, who were business partners. Gerardo N. served as the driver for Diego Sebastián N. during the crime. The two men will now face an initial hearing to determine their legal status.
