Tropical Storm Edouard makes landfall near Johnson Bayou, Louisiana, with sustained winds of 60 mph.

The National Hurricane Center reported the storm has maximum sustained winds of approximately 60 mph and a minimum central pressure of 996 mb. As the storm moves inland over southeast Texas, it is expected to produce rainfall totals of 3 to 6 inches, with maximum totals of up to 9 inches in parts of the Upper Texas Coast and east-central Texas. Southwest Louisiana may see 2 to 4 inches of rain. There is a risk of street flooding in the Houston area, and flood watches and tropical storm warnings are active across coastal and inland counties. Entergy Texas has deployed more than 60 vegetation crews to targeted locations to address potential impacts. Mayor Whitmire stated that the city is better prepared than ever in Houston's history.
