President Donald Trump arrives in Houston for a two-day visit to attend a Republican fundraiser and honor astronauts at NASA.
President Donald Trump arrived at Ellington Field Joint Reserve Base in Houston on Thursday to begin a two-day visit. The administration announced that the president will attend a Republican National Committee reception on Thursday evening to raise funds for the upcoming midterm elections. On Friday, President Donald Trump is scheduled to visit NASA’s Johnson Space Center to present the Congressional Space Medal of Honor to the Artemis II crew, including Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and Jeremy Hansen. Security for the visit has necessitated temporary road closures and traffic delays in southeast Houston and near the NASA campus. NORAD also implemented a temporary flight restriction over Houston, during which F-16 fighters intercepted and escorted out five general aviation aircraft that entered the restricted airspace. Drivers are advised to allow extra time for their commutes as the motorcade moves through the area.
