President Trump seeks to establish expedited immigration pathways for Jewish Canadians facing rising antisemitism

The administration announced a plan to create lawful, secure, and appropriately expedited immigration pathways for Jewish Canadians and their families who face religious persecution. This initiative follows a request from the National Association of Christian Lawmakers, which urged President Trump to use existing refugee and humanitarian authorities to help those seeking safety from the disproportionate amount of antisemitic incidents in Canada. Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney acknowledged that Canada’s civic compact is failing its Jewish community, noting that while Jews make up only 1% of the population, they are the target of two-thirds of religion-motivated hate crimes. More than 2,000 Jewish Canadians have expressed interest in relocating to the United States. The letter sent to President Trump by the NACL and its partners emphasizes that these families bring talent, faith, and family values to the country. Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt has already expressed his willingness to welcome these families, with leaders in Tulsa offering to help resettle them.
