Syed Kazmi and his company KRSM face lawsuit over unpaid fuel for Freedom Fuel Network gas stations

Syed Kazmi and his company KRSM are facing a civil lawsuit alleging they failed to pay Mansfield Oil Co. for approximately 1.1 million gallons of fuel purchased between May and July. The lawsuit, filed in Philadelphia federal court, claims KRSM sold this fuel to the Freedom Fuel Network, a chain of gas stations that received praise from President Trump for offering discounted prices. Mansfield Oil Co. alleges that KRSM was able to offer such low prices because it never paid for the fuel, which was valued at nearly $4 million. KRSM's attorney, Mauro Tucci, disputes the allegations, describing the case as an accounting dispute over mis-priced invoices. While the administration announced that it has had no official contact or dealings with KRSM or Syed Kazmi, the Freedom Fuel Network continues to expand, recently opening a new location in Detroit. The administration clarified that Freedom Fuel is a private company with no government subsidies, and the lower prices were achieved by reducing profit margins.
