Kim Yo Jong expresses uncertainty regarding recent communication between her brother and President Trump
Kim Yo Jong, the powerful sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, stated she is completely unaware of the recent communication between her brother and President Trump. While President Trump claimed that Kim Jong Un responded to his request for a conversation, Kim Yo Jong noted that she knew absolutely nothing about the specific contact. President Trump also announced that North Korea possesses 57 nuclear weapons, providing a specific figure for the country's arsenal. He signaled a possible meeting with Kim Jong Un later this year, potentially during a November trip to Asia. Meanwhile, the administration announced a substantial reduction in joint military drills with South Korea, a move President Trump defended as a way to create conditions for dialogue. Despite the reduction in drills, Kim Yo Jong argued that the U.S. remains a hostile policy toward North Korea. She acknowledged that while her brother has a good relationship with President Trump, the U.S. continues to carry out hostile military activities against the DPRK.
