While Abbott has promoted Texas as an artificial intelligence hub, he recently implemented a moratorium on new data centers to address concerns regarding the strain on the state's electricity grid and water usage. Hinojosa has criticized this move as a temporary measure intended to protect Abbott's reelection chances, arguing that the state needs permanent legislative protections for water, noise, and emissions. Hinojosa's campaign is also focusing on public education, where she claims the state is in crisis with over 170 schools shut down. Conversely, Abbott has focused on his "Keep Texas Affordable" agenda and Public School Efficiency Program. The election will take be held on November 3.
