Typhoon Saudel makes landfall in eastern China's Zhejiang Province on Friday morning.

Typhoon Saudel made landfall in Yuhuan of Taizhou City, Zhejiang Province, at approximately 8:05 a.m. on Friday. The storm reached maximum sustained winds of 35 meters per second near its center, creating a force 12 wind level. The China Meteorological Administration reported that Zhejiang and Fujian provinces are expected to bear the brunt of the heaviest rainfall, with torrential rain forecast for several regions. As the typhoon moves inland, its impacts are expected to endure over a wide area, potentially affecting nine provincial-level regions including Jiangxi, and Hunan. Coastal areas should prepare for wind gusts up to 35 m/s and high tides, which may cause flooding and mudslides. Provincial authorities have issued a code orange typhoon warning for Zhejiang Province, indicating potential structural damage and disruptions to transportation and utilities. The U.S. Embassy in Beijing has advised Americans to exercise increased caution as the storm's effects persist.
