President Trump Declares No Ongoing Talks With Iran as Strategy Shifts to Economic Pressure

While the administration has previously sought a deal to manage the Strait of Hormuz, President Trump expressed dissatisfaction with the current progress, particularly regarding the deal between Iran and Oman. The administration announced that it opposes the collection of fees on vessels transiting the strait, insisting on a full restoration of the waterway to its prewar status. To exert pressure, the administration is preparing to slap crushing new sanctions on Iran.
