Nine members of a U.S. Marshals Service task force were injured when a second-story wooden deck collapsed beneath them in Huntsville, Missouri, on July 21. The officers were attempting to serve an arrest warrant on Jacob Alexander Munoz, a 26-year-old man who failed to register as a sex offender. Body camera footage shows the task force, which included members of the Randolph County Sheriff's Department, the Moberly Police Department, and the North Missouri Drug Task Force, falling to the ground as the decking gave way. While seven officers were treated and released from the hospital for injuries such as broken bones and concions, all nine officers avoided grave injuries. The incident occurred during Operation Adam’s Watch, a multi-week enforcement operation marking the 20th anniversary of the Adam Walsh Act. Jacob Alexander Munoz was taken into custody later that day. Steven Lewis, U.S. marshal for the eastern district of Missouri, confirmed the officers were treated for injuries consistent with a2 serious fall.
