The Home Office released a nine-page booklet titled "Understanding behaviours and expectations in the UK" to guide asylum seekers on local customs and laws. The document emphasizes gender equality, public respect, and the necessity of consent in sexual interactions. It specifically warns men to avoid common behaviors such as whistling, making kissing noises, or offering sexual compliments to strangers. While the administration defended the guide as a way to clarify societal norms, critics from Reform UK labeled the publication a "disgrace," suggesting it implies asylum seekers can be a "menace." Shadow Home Secretary Chris Philp argued that instead of training young, male illegal immigrants to behave more civilly, the government should prioritize deportation. Conversely, School Standards Minister Georgia Gould noted that while some migrants come from cultures with different views on women, many individuals, such as Afghan refugees, have shown a strong desire to contribute to British life. The Home Office confirmed that removals of failed asylum seekers have reached their highest level since 2010.
