Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha met with Swedish Foreign Minister Maria Stenergard in Kyiv to discuss concrete steps to protect Ukraine from Russian ballistic terror. The meeting focused on the timeline for implementing agreements between the leaders of both nations and the ongoing development of a bilateral drone deal. Sybiha noted that Swedish Gripen fighter jets are preparing to defend Ukrainian skies, while also highlighting the need to neutralize Russian threats in the Black Sea to ensure freedom of navigation and grain exports. Additionally, the Swedish government announced a new defense support package of 270 million Swedish kronor, exceeding $28 million. This funding is primarily aimed at strengthening Ukraine's air defenses and includes advanced systems and ammunition. Of this amount, $14 million is designated for the Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List (PURL), a NATO-administered initiative. This marks Sweden's fifth contribution to theURL, bringing their total investment in the initiative to $552 million. The support underscores Sweden's long-term commitment to the defense of Ukraine against continued Russian attacks.
