Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirms receipt of additional Patriot missiles and air defense systems to bolster Ukraine's defense against Russian strikes

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed that Ukraine has received a small number of additional Patriot missiles and AIM missiles to counter Russian aerial assaults. During a meeting with Estonian President Alar Karis, Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine also received confirmation of several Crotale air defense systems and missiles from France. He emphasized the need for more Patriot missiles, noting that while Ukraine has only received 1% of US production, it requires 5% to meet its needs. To support these efforts, the United States is currently finalizing a plan to send a full Patriot missile battery to Ukraine. Once approved, Ukrainian forces will require approximately six to eight weeks of training in Europe before beginning operations. Additionally, Zelenskyy noted that Norway has committed $9 billion in funding for Ukraine for 2027. These reinforcements are critical as Ukraine faces a surge in Russian ballistic missile attacks, which have caused a significant rise in civilian casualties in recent months.
