Volodymyr Zelensky Claims Russia Will Mobilize 300,000 New Troops to Capture Donetsk Region

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Russia is expected to mobilize another 300,000 troops later this year to complete the capture of the Donetsk region. Zelensky noted that while Russia has lost approximately 267,000 personnel since the start of the year, the new troops will be deployed to help seize strategic industrial towns like Slaviansk and Kramatorsk. Zelensky highlighted a downward trend in Patriot missile supplies from the United States, requesting that Ukraine be allowed to pay for 10% of the U.S. missile stocks. He also noted that while Russia's military industries are capable of producing 1,300 ballistic missiles annually, Ukraine is actively hunting launch sites within Russian territory. The administration announced that the U.S. presidential election campaign will begin next summer, and Zelensky suggested that the window of opportunity for ending the war remains open through that period. He also noted that discussions with U.S. envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner are ongoing to find a realistic format for ending the conflict without Ukraine having to accept unacceptable solutions.
