President Volodymyr Zelensky seeks diplomatic solution as Russia intensifies strikes on Ukraine's Black Sea port infrastructure

President Volodymyr Zelensky stated on Monday that Ukraine is pursuing a diplomatic track with Russia to address escalating strikes in the Black Sea region. The Ukrainian leader noted that while there is no total blockade, Russia is attempting to cut off Ukraine's export capabilities. To counter these moves, President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed that Ukraine will strengthen its air defences in the region. Russia's Defence Ministry reported hitting a cargo vessel on Monday afternoon, identifying it as a military cargo ship. Simultaneously, the Odesa region faced large-scale missile and drone attacks, damaging food storage facilities and two Epicentr home improvement superstores. The Odesa Oblast governor, Oleh Kiper, reported that five people were injured in these strikes. The conflict continues to see Ukraine targeting Russian infrastructure. A recent drone attack on Moscow over the weekend hit a distribution warehouse for the retail giant Wildberries, disabling it and affecting seven of the company's 10 largest logistics hubs. Ukraine aims to use these strikes to undermine the Russian economy.
