Ukraine officially procures domestic 'Equalizer' glide bomb to reduce Russia's aerial advantage

The Ukrainian military has officially begun procuring the 'Equalizer' (Vyrivniuvach), a domestically produced guided aerial bomb designed to challenge Russia's growing dominance in glide bomb usage. Developed by DG Industry with support from Brave1, the weapon features a 250 kg warhead and can strike targets at ranges of 10 to 130 kilometers. Colonel Vladyslav Voloshyn stated that the new bomb aims to level the quantitative and qualitative advantage held by Russia, which has increased its daily use of guided aerial bombs to over 300 units. The Equalizer provides Ukraine with a more secure supply chain, as 90% of its components originate from Ukraine, Europe, and the United States, minimizing reliance on foreign hardware. While currently compatible with Soviet-designed MiG-29, Su-24, and Su-27 aircraft, the bomb is also being prepared for potential use on F-16 and Mirage 2000 fighters pending certification. The weapon was developed over 17 months to ensure Ukraine can maintain precision strike capabilities even if foreign military aid remains uncertain.
