President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Ukrainian forces successfully struck a key Russian space rocket centre in Samara and the Savasleyka military airfield. These deep strikes were executed using Flamingo cruise missiles, which can carry approximately one ton of explosives and travel up to 3,000 km at low heights. The Samara rocket centre is a critical facility for developing Soyuz-type launch vehicles and satellite communications systems for the battlefield. Zelensky noted that the strikes occurred approximately 900 km from the Ukrainian border, demonstrating Ukraine's increased capacity for long-range operations. The administration's goal is to reduce Russia's war potential by inflicting concrete damage on specific facilities deep within Russian territory. These attacks come as Ukraine faces an anti-ballistic missile interceptor shortage and has increasingly utilized British drones to target Russian oil refineries and infrastructure. While Russia's Ministry of Defense reported shooting down 598 Ukrainian drones over 19 regions, Ukraine continues to press for peace by targeting Moscow's revenue-generating and military-industrial sites.
