Mykhailo Fedorov, the former Ukrainian Defense Minister, has agreed to serve as an adviser to Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto. In a non-staff capacity, Fedorov will provide expertise on modern warfare technologies, drones, and autonomous systems to help Italy strengthen its defense sector and adapt to global security challenges. Fedorov served as Ukraine's defense minister from January to July, and his dismissal by President Volodymyr Zelensky triggered significant public protests. Despite his new international role, Fedorov stated that his primary focus remains on Ukraine. He intends to continue working in Kyiv to secure resources for new defense technology projects and develop the nation's defense tech ecosystem. During his recent visit to Rome, Fedorov and Crosetto discussed the development of defense technology and the development of a new model of defense for Europe. Fedorov noted that Ukraine's unique experience in technological warfare could serve as a foundation for a new model of defense for the region.
