Brisa Garcia will pursue Military Medical School admission after UNAM canceled her entry due to alleged cheating.

Brisa Garcia, an applicant who scored a perfect 120 out of 120 on the Faculty of Medicine entrance exam, will now seek admission to the Military Medical School at the Secretariat of National Defense (Sedena). This decision follows the cancellation of her entry by the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) after the institution detected anomalies in the online exam. While UNAM accused Garcia of cheating, her family denied the irregularities, noting that the screenshots provided by the university did not match their computer equipment. Despite the lack of resources to pursue legal action against the university, the family chose to move forward. The university's response to the cheating scandal involved a face-to-face control exam for 58,000 applicants to ensure fairness. Rector Leonardo Lomel铆 Vanegas stated that approximately 60% of those who took the control exam in person will be accepted. The incident highlights the importance of institutional accountability and the correction of errors to maintain the university's credibility.
