The National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) announced on August 28 that it will admit 49,074 first-year students for the upcoming academic cycle. The university implemented a mandatory in-person control exam to verify admission results after detecting anomalies and atypical scores in the initial online evaluation. These inconsistencies were caused by technical failures and suspected cheating, leading the university to terminate its contract with the company Territorium Life. Applicants can access their results on the General Directorate of School Administration (DGAE) website. Of the total admitted students, 28,151 will enter through the Regulated Passage and 20,923 through the selection contest. The university also identified several instances of fraud, leading to the arrest of Edgar "N" and David "N" for allegedly participating in a fraud scheme where they collected money to simulate student responses during the online tests. First-year undergraduate students will begin their activities on Monday, August 31, 2026.
