The National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) released the official results of the control face-to-face admission exam for the 2026-2027 academic cycle on Friday, August 28. The university organized this control test to ensure accuracy after detecting significant irregularities in the initial online exam, which included the use of artificial intelligence, identity theft, and instances where third parties took tests for students. Leonardo LomelĂ, the UNAM rector, confirmed that the results are now available for the 20,923 students selected through the selection contest. These students will begin their studies on August 31, 2026. The university noted that the face-to-face exam generally lowered the score thresholds compared to the online version, with some careers showing a decline of up to 45 correct answers. The irregularities led to a judicial investigation, resulting in the detention of Edgar 'N' and David 'N' for fraud. The two men allegedly participated fraudulently in the online exam by charging applicants to have their own devices used to simulate student answers.
