United Parcel Service is investing more than $2 billion into its international, healthcare, and supply chain solutions businesses. The shipping giant revealed the total investment figure for the first time on Monday, noting that the projects began in 2024 and will continue through 2028. Scott Szwast, vice president of international strategy, stated that the goal is to help businesses navigate complex global supply chains and macroeconomic pressures. Key projects include a new hub in the Philippines, a Canadian facility in Ontario, and an air hub at Hong Kong International Airport. The company also launched a tech-enabled logistics center in Taiwan that utilizes automation to increase speed. Additionally, UPS is investing $48 million into 27 temperature-controlled facilities to support healthcare initiatives, such as shipping temperature-sensitive medications. These investments aim to differentiate UPS's end-to-end logistics offerings by providing tailored capabilities for various industries.
