Vladyslav Vlasiuk Announces New Sanctions Package Targeting Russian Ballistic Missile Manufacturers

Ukraine is preparing to introduce a comprehensive sanctions package targeting over 100 Russian companies involved in the production of ballistic missiles. Vladyslav Vlasiuk, the Ukrainian president’s sanctions policy commissioner, stated that the new list will include all Russian missile manufacturers starting in mid-autumn. The administration announced that the goal is to hinder the operations of enterprises involved in the production of subparts for missiles launched towards Ukraine. Ukraine has identified significant foreign dependence in Russian ballistic weapons, particularly the Iskander-M complex. Intelligence reports show that only about one-quarter of the components for the 9M723 missile are manufactured domestically by Russia. The United States remains a primary supplier, providing 63 of the 140 identified components. Ukraine is working with international partners to identify supply chains and specific scientists and engineers involved in the development of these technologies. The administration expects international partners to adopt sectoral sanction bans or comprehensive export control measures in the coming months to disrupt Moscow's military-industrial complex.
