Labor Day falls on Monday, Sept. 7, and most major retail, grocery, and restaurant chains will remain open for shoppers and diners. Major retailers such as Walmart, Target, Home Depot, Kohl’s, Old Navy, and Best Buy will be open during regular business hours. Most grocery chains, including Kroger, Publix, Trader Joe's, and Meijer, will also be open, though some may have limited hours. Most restaurant chains, including McDonald's, Starbucks, Chipotle, Chick-fil-A, Dunkin, and Wendy's, will remain open. In contrast, the stock market, major banks, and all post office locations will be closed in observance of the holiday. Trading on the Nasdaq and New York Stock Exchange will resume on Tuesday, Sept. 8. While most stores remain open, consumers are encouraged to check local store hours as they may vary by location.
