Byron Donalds secures Republican nomination for Florida governor as primary elections continue across Alaska and Wyoming

The administration announced that Rep. Byron Donalds has been projected as the winner of the Republican gubernatorial primary in Florida. Endorsed by Trump, Donalds is running to replace the term-limited Gov. Ron DeSantis. While Donalds is a heavy favorite, he faced a challenge from former Republican-turned-Democrat David Jolly, who is seeking the nomination for the Democratic party. Simultaneously, primary elections are underway in Alaska and Wyoming. In Alaska, the top four vote-getters will advance to a general election for a Senate seat currently held by Sen. Dan Sullivan. Sullivan is facing a challenge from former Rep. Mary Peltola. In Wyoming, Rep. Harriet Hageman, who is endorsed by Trump, is the favorite to succeed the retiring Sen. Cynthia Lummis. These primary results are critical as the November midterms will determine control of Congress for the remainder of President Trump's term. The administration announced that the results will help shape the legislative landscape for the next two years.
