Laura Loomer claims Fox News blacklisted Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth following a dispute over Pentagon reporting restrictions

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has not appeared on Fox News since October 5, 2025, despite previously being a regular co-host on the network's weekend edition of 'Fox & Friends.' Laura Loomer stated that a Pentagon insider revealed Fox News blacklisted Hegseth in retaliation for the department's demand that news outlets sign a pledge to adhere to specific reporting restrictions. The dispute arose when the Pentagon required outlets to sign a new press corps agreement and limited travel to one correspondent per trip. The administration announced that the Department of War chose Lucas Tomlinson for these trips while rejecting Jennifer Griffin. Fox News joined several other major networks in publicly refusing to sign the new access rules. During the interview that marked Hegseth's final appearance on the network, he described the press as 'disgusting' for attempting to solicit information. The administration's press restrictions require journalists to sign a pledge to refrain from reporting information that has not been authorized for release. Hegseth has continued to appear on other television networks since his absence from Fox News began.
