Vice President JD Vance stated the administration would work to ensure Libby Klinner receives everything she is entitled to. During a White House briefing, Vance described the conflict as an operation rather than a war, noting there is no active shooting now. President Trump called the strikes against Iran intermittent and defended Vance's comments. Major Klinner was killed in a March crash of a KC-135 refueling aircraft in Iraq while supporting operations against Iran. He was an eight-year Air Force veteran and the chief of squadron standardizations and evaluations at the Birmingham Air National Guard Base.
