A Bradenton resident, whose name remains temporarily exempt from public disclosure under Florida law, has claimed the $344.2 million cash option from an $800 million Mega Millions jackpot. The winning Quick Pick ticket was purchased at Wawa No. 5185 in Bradenton, located on State Road 70 E. The jackpot, which ended a 37-drawing rollover streak, was won by the only ticket nationwide to match all six numbers drawn on July 28. Florida Lottery Secretary Reginald Dixon expressed excitement over the win, noting that the prize money helps generate funding for education across the state. The win ranks among the largest jackpots in Mega Millions history and is the largest prize won in Florida since the record-setting $1.602 billion jackpot in August 2023. While Florida law mandates that lottery records are public, winners of prizes over $250,000 can remain anonymous for 90 days unless they choose to waive that exemption.
