The Powerball jackpot has reached an estimated $81 million for the next drawing on Monday, Aug. 24, following a Saturday night drawing that produced no jackpot winner. The winning numbers for the Saturday, Aug. 22, drawing were 13-31-54-57-65, with a Powerball of 23 and a Power Play multiplier of 3x. The cash option for this jackpot is estimated at $34.8 million. This rollover occurs less than two weeks after a $1.04 billion jackpot was won by a player in Illinois. The game is currently undergoing a major expansion, allowing players in the United Kingdom to compete for the same jackpot as American participants. While U.K. players contribute to the shared jackpot, they receive annual payments over 30 years. In the United States, winners can choose between a lump-sum cash option or annual payments. The Powerball drawing is held every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. ET from the Florida Lottery draw studio in Tallahassee. Tickets cost $2 per play, with ans optional Power Play and Double Play features available for an additional $1 per play.
