Lorena Isceri was allegedly thrown off a motorway bridge by her ex-boyfriend Federico Vella before he jumped to his death

Lorena Isceri, a 45-year-old woman who worked in the veterinary sector, was abducted and thrown off a bridge on the A1 motorway near Florence. Her ex-boyfriend, Federico Vella, allegedly kidnapped her after she ended their relationship three weeks prior. Vella reportedly waited in the garage of Isceri's home, beat her, and secured her legs with zip-ties before placing her in the trunk of her car. While in the car, Isceri managed to call an emergency helpline to describe her attacker. Vella eventually stopped the car at a viaduct and snatched the phone from her. Enraged, he allegedly hurled Isceri 131 feet off the bridge before jumping off himself as police arrived. Following the incident, Isceri's father, Franco Isceri, issued a video appeal to Italian politicians. He requested that the government take action to ensure such tragedies do not recur. The incident marks the seventh alleged femicide in Italy since mid-August.
